It is not easy to explain how a typical trance journey works: Every trance journey is as individual as the people I work with. So there is no one-size-fits-all approach. But you can definitely say one thing: Your infinite consciousness always shows you exactly what is relevant to your individual situation right now, in a way that is right for you.
About 3 weeks ago I led a trance journey for Kerstin [name changed], which was again quite "different" and very individual. Today I would like to take you with me on her journey and by doing so, perhaps dispel a few myths and misconceptions about how a trance journey works. Perhaps you have also believed one or two of those myths, which might even have prevented you from going on a trance journey yourself? Since that would be a great pity, let's start right away with...
...Myth 1: I must be able to "see something" during a trance journey
The fact that Kerstin's trance journey was unique in its own way was partly due to the fact that Kerstin perceives and receives information very strongly through "feeling" her body sensations as well as "knowing", rather than visually. This means that although she does perceive snippets of images, they do not automatically form a movie that then runs in front of her inner eye. So in her case, the body is her dominant channel of perception through which her expanded consciousness communicates with her (if you want to find out which your dominant channel of perception is, my 0-euro mini course "Find your Soul Wisdom" may be a good place to start. Interestingly, her intention was also related to her body: she wanted to find out why she had always had an issue with her body image and weight in this life, and whether and, if so, how she could achieve her optimal weight and a more loving body image in this life. We had worked out this intention in an in-depth preliminary talk a few days before the trance journey. Kerstin had also prepared a list of questions related to this and other topics to which she wanted to bring the perspective of her expanded consciousness.
Kerstin was slightly nervous before her journey - quite normal, I assured her. And, in my opinion, this is also a sign that we are approaching the matter with the necessary reverence with regard to the power and intelligence of something greater than us - our expanded consciousness, our soul, spirit. Also, at the beginning of each trance journey we spend a lot of time establishing the connection to our heart and expanded consciousness.
Myth 2: I have to give up control 100% during a trance journey
We did a small ritual to clearly bring in her intention for the journey, and to align the mind with the heartbeat and the breath, to activate the vagus nerve, create a feeling of safety and thus allow relaxation - a prerequisite for letting Spirit, our heart consciousness, do the work instead of wanting to control everything. Most of us find this difficult.
However, contrary to the fears of many of my clients, it is not necessary to completely relinquish control 100% of the time. On a journey like this, we have plenty of time to get the information we need and it is completely normal for the ego to open its eyes for a moment every now and then, and whisper (or shout) "I'm still here! I'm paying attention!" This often manifests itself in mental comments from the ego aimed at judging our perception, e.g. "Where did that thought come from?" "Did I just make that up?", "That can't be true!" or simply "Whoa, that's amazing, I wouldn't have thought that!"
Myth 3: My mind must (immediately) understand everything I perceive
Kerstin noticed a cold sensation at first. It was a rather unpleasant cold, the word "ice" came to her mind. The next moment, she saw skulls on wooden poles moving past her. Next, she had body sensations that would continue throughout the session: A feeling as if her throat was tightening, breathing became difficult. A threatening feeling as if lava was "climbing up" her body from below and gradually paralyzing her. There was also a light that she would have liked to follow, but she couldn't because she seemed to be stuck in the "lava", in this shell. There was also pain, something dark and threatening.
In the next scene, she was in Marrakech, at a market. She saw an older man and a boy, always just snatches of images, before her consciousness wanted to gallop on again. Here, too, there was something threatening, but also a light above her that was intangible, which she would have liked to follow, but didn't know how. She got the phrase "it [the light] will get me out of here", but in the next moment the feeling of threat took over: "Run, run away!" she heard. "From what?" I asked. She should run away from herself, came the answer, "because I'm dangerous."
In the next scene, she saw a man in a black cloak with long black hair who radiated something threatening and evil, who was "abusing his power". She was given little snippets of information like "16th century", "Europe", as the setting. The man looked like a warlock or something similar. There was some confusion as to whether she herself was the dangerous man or not. Kerstin's perception became clearer and clearer until it turned out that she was not the man, but a woman who was also present in the scene: she received the information that she was dangerous, but the man was also dangerous. It took some time before Kerstin's consciousness was ready to show her what had happened, the resistance was clearly noticeable.
Because the scene ended traumatically: the man ritually murdered her with a stake through the heart. "I had been told that I was dangerous." The scene with the stake had something "exorcising" about it and there were also other people with caps or hats present who supported the man in the dark cloak in his dark ritual. Apparently she had been mistaken for a witch. She had been able to heal people as a healer in this lifetime. But because she had been a woman, "she was not allowed to do so".
More scenes followed, and many body perceptions, all of which have their justification, even if we don't (can't!) immediately understand what they mean in relation to Kerstin's goals. Understanding is not always important, and often is even a hindrance. Sometimes it is more important to "feel" something, to allow the feeling of it. Also, many impulses of change come in during such a session before our mind has even realized that something is happening. That's the genius of it, if we manage to hand over some of the control to the - much more efficient - expanded consciousness. More clarity usually comes in towards the end of the session: Because that is when we start to converse directly with the expanded consciousness.
Myth 4: The trance journey must not be interrupted or "disturbed" under any circumstances
At some point, Kerstin experienced pain in her back and needed to briefly interrupt the journey to move from the sofa to the bed and find a more comfortable position. This usually isn't a problem at all: the journey is not "disturbed" by this, but "external disturbances", e.g. certain noises, are simply part of the journey and are sometimes even a necessary part of it, as are visits to the toilet, for example. With the expanded consciousness, we can continue exactly where we left off before. This was also the case here.
After she had assumed a more relaxed position, Kerstin's expanded consciousness was suddenly simply "there". Kerstin was in a deeper state of trance than before, as if the interruption had been necessary for her to be able to let go of the last bit of control that might have made the connection difficult. When I went on to ask her expanded consciousness the questions she had prepared, Kerstin began to refer to herself partly in the third person. This is not a necessary but unmistakable sign that the expanded consciousness has "taken over".
As expected, her expanded awareness helped to clarify a few things for her. It became clear, not only through the answers, but also through her body sensations, that the issue of weight acted like a protective armor for her in order not to allow her divine feminine (healing) power - ultimately in order not to be "staked" again - or otherwise persecuted. It had burned itself into her consciousness that she (= her feminine power) was dangerous, so her body assisted in "protecting" her from this power. But her aim in this life was to find her way back to her divine feminine nature, to accept her power and to walk her own path as a healer.
We were able to use the rest of the time to bring in healing impulses which she could clearly feel in her body, to connect her even more strongly with her soul and her purpose in this lifetime, and to clearly define the next steps for her.
Myth 5: My consciousness did not change at all during the trance journey
Kerstin was completely perplexed when she looked at her watch after the session and realized that around 3.5 hours had passed since we had started her journey. For her, time had flown by. Changes in the perception of time are a typical sign that your consciousness is expanding during a trance journey. Kerstin also felt as if she had run a marathon, even though she had "done nothing at all", and I advised her not to get up too quickly. Otherwise, travelers often feel dizzy or funny and don't really feel "grounded" at first. All of these are signs of an altered state of consciousness. Even after the session, when Kerstin listens to the recording, she may hear many things "as if for the first time", even though immediately after the session, she had the feeling that she could remember everything perfectly.
Myth 6: I will always feel good (immediately) after a trance journey
A trance journey of this depth always changes something, even if we don't realize it until much later. Kerstin experienced physical pain the first night after the trance journey, which kept her awake. It was not pleasant, but instinctively she knew that the pain was related to the session and was nothing threatening or frightening. Accordingly, she felt a little better the next morning. A few days later I received a moving message from her saying that she had walked up a hill for the first time without thinking about her weight and for some reason had not been out of breath at all. In fact, for the first time in a long, long time, she had not felt "weighed down" by her weight, but light and carefree.
